Goal Settin' Time

Ok, I have been reading some other blogs and have come to realize that I need to set some goals so that I can be held accountable. My long term goal is to get down to 115 pounds, hey I'm only 4'11". My current weight is 155.6. So that is a total of 40.6 pounds to lose. Wow putting it out there is tough to see. I would like to reach this goal before 2011 starts so I have 10 months, that's 4 pounds per month. Doesn't sound too bad. Last night I walked for 15 minutes on the elliptical, after supper. It's much harder to exercise after eating. I didn't over indulge, I just had small bites of everything. Barbecue, baked potatoes, slaw, baked beans, yummy!!!! Just a little though. I have stuck to drinking water really well. Better than I would have thought before I started this journey. I am still having 1 diet drink with breakfast. Soon I will cut these out, I am trying to avoid the headaches that come with not drinking any caffeine. I brought my lunch again today, that's 2 weeks in a row. I have a mixed greens salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, black beans and a small amount of feta cheese. I use a fat free dressing. The beans and feta cheese are my source of protein. It really does fill me up. I usually have a snack around 3:00, an apple or spoon of peanut butter. I am determined this time. I have felt miserable for so long now, it's time for me to take my life back into my own hands.

Checking in...

IS this snow ever going to STOP..........
I am so tired of it. Just when we think it is over, it is starts again.

I ran, walked, ellipticaled, what ever you call it on the elliptical last night for about 25 minutes. I have worked myself up from 15 minutes. It's not so bad. I actually do enjoy it. It is just hard to find the time everyday though. I am trying to incorporate some weights too. I have to keep this up, it does make me feel better and a little more energetic.

Today is one of those days that I don't feel very productive though. Looking outside at the falling snow really gets me down. The forecast does look promising though. Almost 60 on Sunday and Monday. We can pray!!!!!

We are suppose to have our basement walls poured with concrete on Friday, but the temperature looks as if it will be too cold. The low Friday night is suppose to be 19. I guess we will have to have that put off until Monday. But we are making some progress. Surely it will start warming up soon. We have so many contractors to line up. We have been packing some each night so that hopefully once everything is set up we will just go and not be rushed. It will be so nice to have the space that we need, to be able to spread out and not feel so cluttered. We are going to be having one kick a.. yard sale. I am not going to have the new kitchen cluttered. We packed some of our pots and pans and other stuff that we rarely use, back in December. Funny thing is, I haven't missed a single thing. Just goes to show how much waste people have. I will try to find a good home for these items, I'm sure someone could use them.

I am going to posting my stats soon. My starting weight and measurements. I know, that is pretty bold. But I just want those of you to know that I am serious about this endeavor.

We are eating at our Aunts tonight, that will be a challenge. She is a great old fashioned cook. Fried, fried and greasy food. Not sure what I'll eat. I guess I will just nibble and go home and eat a healthy meal. I hope to have the time tonight to get on the elliptical. I usually get on it as soon as I get home, before I eat. Not sure how that is going to work out this evening.

What kind of meals do you eat that you consider healthy that stick with you?

Monday Again!

Here we are another week of winter has begun. The good thing is today is March 1. Yeah!!! I am so ready for springtime. We have arrived into the month where that will begin. I have been longing for this since, well I guess October. I am so not a cold weather person.

Well I guess it's time I let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. I don't really have a cat in a bag.

I started my new get Healthy plan last Monday. I have made a vow to myself to get healthy and fit. Yes I know I need to lose weight and that is part of the reason why I have started this. I am tired of always complaining about being tired all of the time and having no energy. I live such a dormant lifestyle and that is all about to change.
What am I doing you say?
I have vowed to exercise at least 5 days per week. I started walking on the elliptical last Monday and walked on it everyday Monday through Friday. I did not walk on it Saturday or Sunday. I plan on doing this from now on, weekly. I am not going to step on a scale. I am cutting out soft drinks, well not entirely. I am allowing myself one Diet Coke or Diet Dr Pepper first thing each morning and hopefully will eventually cut them out entirely. Hopefully this will keep headaches from creeping up. I am drinking water with all other meals. I did really good last week. I am trying to eat more fruits and veggies. I am not going to eat fried foods any more. With Spring right around the corner hopefully the exercising will become easier and the weather will motivate me more. Kevin is with me on this journey and we are taking Haley also. We need to teach her to eat better and to stay active. My family is most important to me and we all need to be healthy and active together.

Running has always been a passion of mine since High school. I just haven't done it. I use to run Cross Country and it felt so good. Now that I'm older I don't think I would feel comfortable running by myself. Maybe I can get in better shape via Elliptical and I can run at the school when it gets warmer. I know this is not going to be easy but I am going to try and stay motivated. I must do this for MYSELF. I am so miserable.

Signing out for now.

Happy March 1st everyone.

How time flys!!

I can't believe I haven't posted since April 09. That's crazy. I read several blogs every morning at work, but have failed to blog on behalf of myself. So much has been going on since last April.

Let me see....

We have been searching for a house. We started back in May and then decided to get a modular home. We knew where we wanted to be but there were no homes available. We have looked at so many floor plans. It can be a bit overwhelming. Oh the options and what ifs.

We finally decided on a floor plan after seeing over 50. Made our own adjustments and changes. I guess you can say we customized our house plans based on things that we liked in those that we did get to see.

The house was ordered in November. The basement was started the 2nd week in November. Now it is February and we haven't got much farther than that. The grade work is complete. The block for the basement is finished and we have a light pole. That's it... This has been one long, cold and snowy winter. Thank goodness it is almost March.

We may be moved in by May, who knows?

We went to Cancun in July. It was as awesome as ever. I just love it there. Such a fun and relaxing vacation. We ended up staying for 7 nights, but I was ready to come home. We will probably go again this year. (Oh how I miss the sunshine)

Me and Haley went to a Taylor Swift Concert in September in Charlotte. It was a really good concert. We had a great time together. I love having girl time with her. She is so special to me. She is growing up more and more everyday.

We took Haley and her friend Alicia to Pigeon Forge for the weekend in December. We went to Dollywood. We enjoyed our visit there, it was pretty cold but it felt like Christmas and it was just great to spend that time together and make those memories. The first morning there we woke up to a beautiful snow. We stayed in a cabin and the sight was just like a postcard.

We had a great Christmas, seems just like yesterday. Kevin and Haley went to Nola's (Kevin's Aunt) in Cleveland, TN for THE annual New Years party. I had to work and save my days off for the big move...

Me and Kevin made a trip back to Pigeon Forge for Valentines Day. It was nice to get away just us. I did miss Haley though. It just doesn't feel right being anywhere over night without her with us.

The kids have missed so much school with all this bad snowing weather we have been having. They missed 6 days in January and so far 9 days in February. They went to school this past Saturday to make up a day! As of right now their last day of school will be June 7th. They start back on August 6th. This seems so unfair. They deserve at least 2 months out for the summer. I think that, especially after this winter, year round school would not be a bad idea.

Here we are now at the end of February, not a moment too soon. We are ready for the concrete to be poured and a new house. I just hope and pray that the weather will cooperate with us. We currently have about 8 inches of snow on the ground and it is coming down as I type this. Looking at the forecast it is not suppose to clear up until Tuesday. I guess it is a good thing that we are not in the predicament of HAVING to move. We can move at our own pace, take our time. That's good since I hate being rushed. I guess we will rent our house when the time comes. I hope to get good renters. I guess we will have to be choosy. I hate the thought of someone coming in and tearing up the place that we worked so hard to get just right.

Well thats all for now. I have more to talk about but I'll save that for another day. I've said enough already.

Go out and enjoy this snow. Won't be long until we will be wearing flip flops and longing for Winter. NOT!!!!!!

I know, I know I havn't blogged in a while. I have been reading others though. I just can't seem to get into it. There are some very creative people out there and is is so much more fun to read theirs. I will try to do better but I won't promise. In the mean time. You have got to check this out, It is a giveaway of a Scentsy Warmer. I havn't tried Scentsy yet but have read about it, looks great. Just another day

Havn't blogged in awhile. I read blogs every day but I guess I am just too lazy or have nothing to blog about.

There are so many interesting people out there. I love to read about things going on in others lives. There are happy things, sad things and a lot of heartache. I visit several sites where people are asking for prayer for themselves or someone in their families. A mother, who lost her 11 month old child one month agohttp://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/. A wife asking for prayer for her husband, he has a brain tumorhttp://prayersformyhusband.blogspot.com/. Another wife, her husband passed away a couple weeks agohttp://www.mckayfamilylife.blogspot.com/. Each and every one of these really pull at my heart and depress me. But I feel that these people really need to be lifted up to the Lord for help and guidance. I am glad that I can read these blogs and offer a prayer to God on their behalf.

I have a really great life, not a lot going on. My husband is the most wonderful man in the world. My daughter is very precious to me. My in-laws couldn't be any better. My husband and I both have good jobs. (In this tough economy that is a good feeling) I feel really lucky at this point in my life. Of course everything is not so peachy. My mother passed away 4 years ago this April. My dad, well I don't know what to say about him. After she died, he went wild. Got arrested for DUI, lost his job. He now has no income and lives with his mother. I do keep in touch with him, just not sure how to help. He is one of those people that can't be helped no matter what.

I try to be a good person. I am over weight and find it really hard trying to lose weight. I lack motivation and will power. Sometimes I give it a really good try, the downside to that is I LOVE TO EAT!!!! It's like I live for food. I can be eating one meal and thinking about what I want to eat at my next meal. It's an obsession I guess.

I do want to leave my blod post on a good note so. Go over to http://scoopbybeth.blogspot.com/, this girl Beth is new to the blogging world and has some great blog designs. (As you can see I need a blog makeover.) Her prices are reasonable and right now she is having a Grand Opening Give-Away. She is going to choose 3 random winners to receive a complete Blog makeover. Her prices aren't too bad either. So go on over there and enter for your chance at a make-over.

Until next time

Lost...and found

Our dog "aka Puppy" has been missing since last Wednesday. He is an outside dog and wonders, but usually stays pretty close to home. We didn't really notice he was gone until Saturday, just figured he was in the woods. We went looking for him but to no avail, nothing. Haley was pretty upset. Sunday, Haley decided to make Lost posters to place at the 2 local stores . (Yes I said 2, very small community) After school on Monday her Papaw took her to the stores to place the signs and went out to look for him. Nobody had seen him. When Kevin and I got home we ate supper at his parents house and went home. We had a message on the machine. It was one of Haleys classmates mothers, she thought she had saw Puppy, but wasn't sure, she told us where she had seen him. So we set out to find him. We took the truck, because Puppy knows the sound of the truck and would surely hear us. We went right to where she had seen him and hollered. We were driving up someones driveway, going to ask if they had seen him and here he comes flying. He had heard the truck. Kevin stopped, Haley jumped out and they reunited. Haley was happy to see him but I think he was happier. He was 4 1/2 miles from home! We spoke with the person who lives there and she said that he had been there for 2 days and that she had tried to feed him but he would just run away from her. I think he was living in her barn. We took him home, fed and petted him and put him to bed on the porch. He seemed very happy to be home. Haley was happy and rested much better last night. What is the old tale about dogs never getting lost? Oh, well, guess thats no so true. So he was found and all is well.
